A little bit about us - VanIsle Finance Corporate History

During the early 1990’s a pair of industrious and very experienced credit office managers agreed to form a company offering off-site business management services, specifically to the RV industry on a localized level in Red Deer, Alberta.

Bernie Lindwall, one of the founders, decided to take the concept to Vancouver Island to serve an ever growing need in the region for RV and marine dealer financing. He became very well-known locally to the industry under the operating name of VanIsle Finance. After thirty years in the industry he decided to retire, selling the business to the current owner – Doug Pearson.

Since acquiring the business in 2007 the scope of operation has been expanded whereby a full range of finance options are available to the RV, marine, automotive and powersport sectors.

VanIsle Finance Ltd. (VIF) has developed into a one-stop brokerage centre that has both traditional and non-traditional sources to place finance contracts. Where other brokerage sources are restricted to a limited few finance options VIF has access to a broader range, meaning that a higher percentage of overall loans get funded, which is the bottom line for our dealers.

VanIsle Finance - Management and Personnel

Doug Pearson, the President and GM of VIF has a diverse financial background developed throughout the past fifteen years. Initially trained as a commercial lender and later as a business manager, his wide range of experience provides a fundamental understanding of pertinent issues unique to each circumstance. That background is all important, especially when dealing with small business owners. Loan consolidation candidates and other day-to-day scenarios.

Our friendly staff is exceptionally well trained and experienced in the art of customer service, something we pride ourselves on. VIF operates exclusively on Vancouver Island so that we can give personalized service to both the dealer and the customer.

We understand that communication is the key to having a positive outcome for all concerned parties. Our goal is to work directly with both the dealer and customer to find the finance terms that satisfy the customer’s needs while ensuring the sale stays "glued together".

Customers and/or dealers are encouraged to contact VIF any time to discuss elements of the loan or ask related questions. Our office environment is very relaxing for the customer, as many people are nervous dealing with “bankers”. Customers often feel more comfortable dealing outside of the dealership as well.
