All operators of powered boats will be required to obtain a PLEASURE CRAFT OPERATOR CARD. These legal requirements apply to all Canadian waterways and have been phased in over a 10 year period. All persons operating powered boats will need the card by SEPTEMBER 15, 2009.

Thiss includes all operators of power driven vessels, powered boats, powered sailboats and personal watercraft (PWCs), regardless of age or engine size. It will be the law and you could be fined if you are found to be operating a pleasure craft without an operator's card.
